If art consists of cultivating singularity, it is without doubt the best way to engage in dialogue with another, in front of us just as within us, because the encounter is only possible within difference.
Interrupted solitude. The fortuitous intrusion of another colour, another mood, another person. The inevitable threat of fading away, of being touched or remaining immaculate.
One and the other advance without knowing, opening, folding back on themselves, being afraid, feeling safe. They share their distances, their fantasies together, exploring strengths and differences, between resistance and complicity. They always take at least one step, at the risk of being just another passing fugitive in the life of another.
Kept apart on the world’s shore, in those places where it’s all about survival, a willingness to open up a space of freedom manifests itself.
