Tereza Ondrová studied Dance Pedagogy at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
After graduation, in 2004, she co-founded the dance company VerTeDance and within the company created more than twenty dance pieces. Since 2012 she has been cooperating with Peter Šavel. Together they created the duet Boys who like to play with dolls, which was awarded the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award in 2015, Dance Piece of the Year and Dancers of the Year 2014 in Czech Republic, nominated by Total Theatre Award Nomination and selected for Priority Companies List 2014 by Aerowaves. The second one titled As long as holding hands was premiered at Tanec Praha 2015.
Since 2016, Tereza has been working with theatre and movie director Petra Tejnorová, and together they created dance projects You are here (2016), Nothing Sad (2017) and Pojďme na tanec / Let’s dance (2017). Their collaboration also resulted in an unusual documentary movie Haló, je tam někdo? / Hello, Is Anyone Out There? (2017) that looks at the (not only dance) world from the perspective of children.
As a dancer and interpreter, she collaborated with Swedish choreographer Charlotta Öfverholm, French choreographer Karine Ponties, Venezuelan choreographer David Zambrano and Slovakian choreographer Anton Ľahký. Besides her interpretive and creative choreographic work, she is also involved in dance pedagogy.
Since 2016, she has been teaching dance at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, occasionally at the Academy of Performing Arts dance department. Since 2018, she regularly teaches movement courses for actors of the National Theatre.
