Working as an interdisciplinary artist and formally as co-director of the project based Champloo Dance Company – Associate Company at the Bristol Old Vic. The focus of his work lies in both dance and film, with his origins rooted in BBoying. His dance style has developed and evolved into what has been described as a unique fusion, at the forefront of the UK’s progressive movement, with core values of expression, accessibility and integrity. His latest works are touring internationally in Europe, North America and Asia.
Wilkie was awarded The Arts Foundation Choreographic fellowship in 2012 in recognition of professional standing within the art of dance and film. In 2019 he was the recipient of the UK Film & TV Charity John Brabourne Award and the Theatre and Technology – Outstanding Production Award for his last film TOM. Wilkie is a New Wave Associate Artist at Sadler’s Wells.
