At age 17, Nilda Martinez became a member of the Compagnie Malabar, where he learned his stagecraft for two years. He then enrolled in the Ecole de cirque de Lomme, with a Chinese pole specialty, to perfect his circus physicality. After these 4 years in Lille, he continued his training, in contemporary dance, in Paris and collaborated, in parallel, with Cie de Danse Retouramont and company TransExpress.
Currently based in Brussels, he continues to feed on all kinds of corporal practices, most notably a martial practice with Systèma. Founder of his own company, Le Phare Production, he created a solo “Introspection d’un Poisson” and [MA] a choreographic duo. In parallel, he also works with Petridish, a Brussels-based dance/theatre/circus company, and Panama Pictures, a circus/dance company based in the Netherlands.
‘High’ on travels, he rides the waves of creating on stage one encounter after the other, alternating international projects to more personal ones.
